The Way We Talk To Our Children Becomes Their Inner Voice

Published on: 3 March , 2017 | Ekta

'The Way We Talk To Our Children Becomes Their Inner Voice' says Peggy O'Mara. On that note, ask yourself the questions below. If the answer is “Yes” to any of the below, what this blog will unfold, is a must read for every parent!

Do you take your infant or toddler to a violent or adult-rated movie believing they are too young for it to impact them?

Does your baby throw tantrums while eating?

Do you have regular quarrels with your spouse or in-laws at home?

Do you end up spending very little time with your child because you both are working parents?

Do you focus largely on the child gaining knowledge over wisdom and values?

Do you have many conversations at home revolving around the negatives in society, government and media?

It’s a common saying “Children are God’s reflection”. At the tender age of 4, they are a clean slate. Whatever you tell your child, its brain absorbs it like a sponge. It can’t filter out the good from bad; the negative from positive. During the age of 0-6 years, the brain downloads all the perceptions, activities and knowledge, it receives without the benefit of discrimination. The way we talk to our children becomes their inner voice.

The subconscious mind is a vast reservoir which holds the blueprint of all the habits, beliefs, memories, learnings, experiences and physiological processes which create one's identity. Subconscious mind programming is done much before the ability of critical reasoning is developed in a child. Programming the subconscious mind will influence 95% of your child's adult life. So, can you train the brain and make it ‘The Obedient Brain’?

How can you help unleash the potential future of your child?

One of the promising methodologies is to exercise Affirmative, Positive sentences. This is a method for us adults to communicate from our mind to our child’s mind. The ‘Science of vibration’ is exercised by using the right choice of words that create the right vibration. Even if your child does not change his/her behavior at this point, when he/she grows up, these vibrations will be their inner voice and produce the desired results.

There are innumerable benefits of programming the mind that help inculcate the right values, attitude, virtues and beliefs in your child. There is no doubt that every parent would want to build a stronger bond with their child & tune the child’s mind to be positive. We have toys to make our child happy. But this happiness is temporary. There is happiness beyond it. There are scientific ways to achieve positivity and lasting happiness – One such technique is adopting a program called “The Obedient Brain”.

So, what exactly is The Obedient Brain?

It is a  3-minute personalized script designed for your child to -

  1. Unlock the highest potential of your child's mental, physical and emotional strength
  2. Renewed self-esteem, self-image and self-respect
  3. Ensure emotional stability and increased happiness
  4. Increase ability to cope with fear and stress
  5. Boost vitality and health
  6. Ensure better performance at school

My personal experience with ‘The Obedient Brain’

My child is under 2 years old and while she may not understand everything I say, I’m sure a reasonable portion of the personalized communication is understood by her.  To gauge the true results of  'The Obedient Brain' program, the script/exercise must be religiously followed for 3 minutes every day for 3 months. Some of the immediate behavioral changes I have seen are:

1) Diminished bad habits.

Eg. My child is learning to indicate that she needs to use the loo & is also getting off the habit of picking her nose. Every time, she is told that “Good girls do not pick their nose”, she immediately ceases from doing so. All these positive affirmations are making an impact.

2) Regularized sleeping patterns.

3) Better Eating habits.

The team at Obedient Brain has done their scientific research and in my experience, it is working well with my child. I can see that my child understands the positive & encouraging words. These words will bring far better results after my child grasps the meaning of each word/sentence.

All that we do for our children is our expression of love. Whether it is buying a puzzle, enrolling them for a dance class or trying to inculcate the right value system. So, how can you measure the impact, benefit or the happiness quotient of a tangible Vs. a non-tangible thing?  The Obedient Brain has a dedicated team of experts who help you assess your current lifestyle & aid quick parenting tips that may be known but are often not implemented in our lives.

For instance, we know that a child should be kept away from gadgets and high-frequency sounds that can interfere with the development of the brain. Yet, most children are fed with the I-Pad or TV on. Using abusive words or frequent exposure to anger or quarrels at home with other family members will create a deep footprint in the child’s mind. A detailed call helps you understand how to create a positive abode of love for your child.

The process to get the script – and what I love most

To ensure that the right messages  are communicated to the child, the script is personalized for each child. So, how does one get this script? First, a detailed online survey is taken to understand the behavior, likes and dislikes of your child and the challenges you face as a parent. Following the survey, there is a discussion with two 'The Obedient Brain' experts  who aid in customizing the script for each child. It is important that you take this initiative as a couple; and not just as a mother, even though you may be putting your child to sleep every day.

Importance is given to the focus areas (the challenges you face with your child), which are repeated twice in the script. For example, Dealing with my picky toddler tantrums & disturbed sleep at night always concerned me as a mother. So, a part of the script reads –

“You enjoy eating food. You like to savor what you eat.
You eat the right amount of food your body needs.”

The ideal way to implement the script is to read in your own personal voice, while putting the child to sleep. However, if the lights or your cell phone disturbs your child, you can record it in your phone & play the recording every night.

In Summary

The Obedient Brain is an innovative approach, using the technique of neuro-triggering Affirmative and Positive communication with your child. It requires both the father and mother to invest time in communicating with the child. If you would like to know more and signup for The Obedient Brain, checkout http://www.theobedientbrain.com/
