A woman is the foundation of her family, but does that mean she should give up her dreams, profession, and goals once she becomes a mother?
No, says Prerna, the co-founder of I.N.S.P.I.R.E awards. This is why, through the writings on her page MaaOfAllBlogs, Prerna has been urging and motivating women to discover their own uniqueness over the years.
However, she wanted to take this objective a step further and recognise moms who succeeded in making themselves feel positive about themselves, so that's when the I.N.S.P.I.R.E. Beyond Motherhood Awards was established. With this thought, when she approached by a dear friend, Nirupama Yeole, a nutritionist, author and entrepreneur, she identified it as something close to her heart and journey as well.
Through I.N.S.P.I.R.E, they want to give women a sense of dignity, a purpose and the confidence that only comes from financial independence. They would be training them in different vocations that they can pursue on their own, in their own time and from the comfort of their own house.
Prerna and Nirupama began their journey began in 2019, and this year they are in Season 4.0, of the awards, associated with personalities such as acclaimed actress Chhavi Mittal, Geetika Mehta,, MD Hersheys and Simrun Chopra, a celebrated Wellness coach, as the jury. Apart from this they have partners, without whom this would not have made waves, - Women’s Web, Mumbai Mom Tribe, Breastfeeding Support for Indian Mothers, Maharashtra Ladies Association and their NGO partner Prashanti Cancer Care Mission. Their city-based supporters are Bloggers Meet Info, Navi Mumbai Moms, MomImperfecto, Oye Hyderabad and Estate Social. They also have Woodpecker Media as their PR Partner and Shrima Rai as their Social Media Partner.
So, what exactly are the I.N.S.P.I.R.E. Beyond Motherhood Awards?
Much has been said and done to advance women's roles in society. The Inspire Beyond Motherhood Awards recognise and support mothers who have gone beyond raising children and nurturing a family to make their own impact. Such mothers are worthy of being honoured not just for what they have accomplished but also for the inspiration their stories can bring to thousands of other women who are in a similar stage of life and struggle to balance priorities other than parenting their children.
Prerna and Nirupama also wanted to do something to give back to society through the INSPIRE Beyond Motherhood Awards. Hence, their social initiative for this year is to raise Breast Cancer Awareness. For this, they have partnered with an NGO which works with cancer patients. Chhavi Mittal, an actress, is a breast cancer survivor who is also supporting them.
These awards will be celebrated with guests and recipients on August 5th at the Sahara Star in Mumbai. If you believe you know a mother who deserves this honour, please share this with her or nominate her. We can't wait for this to happen; may #mompower be recognised.
