Entertaining, yes! But Are Cartoons Good For Our Kids?

Entertaining, yes! But Are Cartoons Good For Our Kids?

Chhota Bheem, Kris, Mighty Raju, Ben 10, Pokemon, Doraemon, Kisna & Tom & Jerry – these have become more than just cartoon characters today. They have become common household names; we are literally living with these characters day and night. Kids get up with Chamki of Chamki ki Duniya, a famous cartoon character. But Are These Cartoons Good For Our Kids? In our childhood days, the moment we wake up in the morning, we would run towards the window, pull up the curtains and look out for the beautiful birds chirping outside, the people bustling on the street or the vehicles passing by our house. We hate to admit it, but the fact remains that our kids are lost in the world of cartoon shows.

Three year old Lehar Katara spends 2-3 hours everyday watching her favorite cartoon shows. She was particularly attracted towards Doraemon, the Japanese Robotic cat. The particular characteristic trait of this cartoon character is it moans and makes weird sounds. Lehar too did the same, her family members were annoyed looking at this. The initial attempts of her parents proved futile. Slowly, they drew her attention towards other cartoon characters, particularly, the Indian ones, which are totally cool, friendly and funny too! The transition was definitely not easy, but their efforts were rightly paid. Thereon, TV time became fun times too! Where both the parents and kids could happily enjoy.

Cartoons - Are they doing any good to our kids-ConfusedParent

Consulting psychiatrist, Dr.Neeraj Ravani from Lakshadeep Hospital said, “It is not unusual for children to have a role model. But parents need to ensure that the role model reflects good values and behavior.” Every single word is so true. Some parents opt for the extreme option- a total ban on cartoon shows. This might not work in your favour; as there is a high probability of the child to turn aggressive & rebellious. They could make desperate attempts to somehow watch the cartoon shows at friend’s place or on mobile/tablet in secrecy. Therefore, the need of the hour is monitoring but not micro-managing the amount of time the children spent on watching their favourite cartoon shows.  It is totally unfair on the parent’s part to completely cut off the cartoons; we have to move with the trend. But, when to pull the strings should be totally in our hands.

Spending time with the child and patiently explaining them both the good and bad aspects of particular cartoon shows makes a positive impact on the child’s mind. Then the child is bound to make the correct choice, much to the satisfaction of the parents too.

Some cartoon characters are incorporated to imbibe certain values or teachings in children. They have hidden messages in every episode. One such cartoon show is Chhota Bheem which is aired round the clock on Pogo channel. Chhota Bheem is an epitome of bravery, truth, hard work, loyalty and true friendship. Parents  are a little concerned about its round the clock airing on Pogo, but its various characters are sure to make you roll with laughter as well as make you think and act good as well.

In our times we used to enjoy the Roadrunner Show, The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse & Tom & Jerry, which was my personal favourite. These cartoon shows were absolute fun – just pure comedy.  Nowadays cartoon shows have gone one step further, of course, few of them in the good direction. They intend to teach good values and behavior to the future flag bearers of India.

Tom & Jerry

Not all cartoons are meant for kids – have we ever thought about this? We as parents assume that all cartoons – simply because they are animated – are OK for kids.  Wait a minute parents, the fact is that, they often aren’t though. Your child might find it very funny and interesting too, but the content may not be appropriate for children – the content might be meant for adults or the comedy could be adult rated comedy.

In this scenario, it becomes increasingly important before parents introduce their kids to certain cartoon shows after prior thorough research.

  • One of the most effective methods could be watch the show yourself before introducing it to your child.
  • Observation of how the characters speak to each other and their body language could be an important yardsticks to judge a cartoon show.

Once you are convinced of a particular cartoon show, you can give a thumbs up to your child as well. This creates a comfortable atmosphere where the family can be care-free and share some laughs together.

Cartoons aren’t just about entertainment alone. Cartoons for pre-schoolers such as Nick Jr. “Dora the Explorer”, encourages the kids to improve their maths and reading skills. Mickey Mouse in English on Disney Channel also is a great hit among kids where the child’s vocabulary skills enhance. Kids right from the age of 2 can be introduced to this channel, and you could see the ways in which they pick up the concepts on pollution, environment, seasons, etc. since the language is so simple and effective. Such Cartoons Are Entertaining as well as Good For Our Kids.

Another such show aired on Disney Channel is Art Attack. They teach lovely things that could be made out of waste. So they promote the concept of “Best From Waste”. A must watch for the little artist in every child! Discovery Kids is one such educative channel where the kids become aware about many things happening around them. It acts as a guide for the young explorers of tomorrow.

Kisna the Indian cartoon character enacts the life of Krishna, one of the greatest mythological character of the Hindus. Each episode is an enactment of the life of Krishna and the eventful happenings that made him tough, charismatic and smart too. These events are depicted as per the mythological records, which means they are based on true stories.

M.A.D

Another show which is a great hit with the kids is ‘MAD’ show, where the host makes arts & crafts seem so easy and interesting. The presentation of the host makes it so inviting, that once the kid switches on the show, it is very difficult to take the eyes off it. These shows are totally engaging and develops the mental capacity as well as brings out the artistic skills in the child. Such shows deserve a total thumbs up for their content and quality.

With the advent of “smart television”, where one can watch movies(net flix), check out their Facebook feed & watch songs online, many children now watch educational videos on YouTube channels on television. One of the best emerging YouTube channel for children is KidzMix Flix a fun & educational YouTube Channel for kids – From all-time favourite Dinos to the Jungle Party songs & the Smurfs, your child can watch all the Grammy Award winning series now.

Some People Are Getting Rewarded For Bleeding – “PERIOD”. Guess Who, How & Why

Some People Are Getting Rewarded For Bleeding – “Period”. Guess Who, How & Why

“Period”: The state of endless headaches, body ache, nausea, head rushes, awkward postures, laziness, cramps, and a fake smile on your face to shield the inhibition & discomfort a woman experiences recurrently every month. Every woman who ‘has’ & ‘is’ going through her period realizes that it is not about dragon farts & staged drama.

If you ever thought that sharing heart-rending videos & posts on social media, campaigns & long processions in the busy streets of your city, will turn out to be instrumental to people understanding ‘THE PERIOD-PAIN’, you probably have unrealistic expectations. Some men pretend to be ignorant while others turn hostile to the merciless pain. It is an awkward situation when you have to request a day off and explain your discomfort to your male boss, isn’t it?

However, some sympathetic men of the male-chauvinistic society have started accepting the difficulties of menstruation. Elating all the female employees, Culture Machine & GoZoop are two Indian organizations who have grabbed eyeballs by granting a paid leave on the first day of the period to all their female employees.

They decision was announced while launching a video recording the reaction of all their female employees who were euphoric with their decision. This is gaining momentum nation-wide & we are positive to see many more organizations getting more liberal with their leave policies, accepting the difficulty every woman goes through during those few days every month.

Infact, Culture Machine has turned heads by supporting employees in their educational needs by sharing educational expenses, and a force shut down on New Year’s and Valentine’s Day – are you like kidding me? Do you have a vacancy? Any role? Any pay scale? Any part of Mumbai?

Hear the team speak – “We wanted to make sure that our colleagues feel appreciated, and also in a society like in India, where the ground reality of women empowerment is still a talk, we wanted to walk the talk,” said Prasad, who’s also chief technology officer of Culture Machine.

We also hear that India’s labor minister, has decided to extend a “humble gift” of six months paid maternity leave to all the women employees. Well, if that’s becoming a mandate, we may see a change in the hiring policies processes & gender preferences. We hope & are positive, that “THIS CHANGE IS FOR GOOD”. We love it. And ever since we read it first on IndiaTimes, we couldn’t curtail our excitement to share this cool thing with you.

While we are raving about it, tell us if you support this initiative? Are you going to share this with your fellow colleagues & friends & spread the word to see the change in your organization & the society? If yes, share and say “I TOO NEED MY DAY OFF”.

When and How to Plan Your Baby’s Name

When and How to Plan Your Baby’s Name

During pregnancy, you will hear several Indian baby names suggestions by friends and relatives. Deciding your baby’s name definitely features in the list of ‘Top five most exciting moments for soon-to-be parents’. Here are some things to keep in mind while you are planning your baby’s name.
Pronunciations
Give your baby a name that is easy to pronounce and spell. While it does not mean that you cannot give your baby a unique name, an easy to pronounce name will eliminate the annoyance of having to constantly making corrections to mispronunciations and misspells made by others.

Initials
Initials have to be considered while picking a name for your little prince or princess. If you’re not careful, it could lead to teasing later in life. Example: While Bhuvi is a nice name by itself, pairing it with a middle name and surname like Arnit and Deshmukh will make it Bhuvi Arnit Deshmukh with the initials B.A.D.

Popularity
Your child is unique. Hence you probably wouldn’t like a dozen others with the same name. You may go online and search for the top baby names in use today. This will tell you which ones are extremely popular so that you may avoid them.

Names that age well
While a name like Pinky or Janu may sound apt when you look at your little bundle of joy, your child may not feel the same when she grows up. Keep in mind professional situations like a job interview or client presentation before deciding the name.

Meaning
While giving your baby a name, do check up on its meaning as well. A lot of people believe that names add to a person’s personality. Example, a pretty name like Marisha means bitter which is why you would probably want to avoid it. Hence, do cancel out the names from your baby name list that don’t ‘mean’ well.

Family
Another way to name your baby is by using the name of a dear family member or the mixture of two or more family members’ names.

When is the best time for me to decide my baby’s name?
In actuality, there is no one specific time when you should decide your baby’s name. Some people start listing baby names from the first trimester itself. A few others start the decision-making process in the second or third trimester. Some parents even wait till their baby is born before making their decision. This lets them consider their baby’s traits when she is born. For instance, some babies kick a lot, and parents who are avid football fans may pick names from among famous footballers.

With the Pampers India baby names generator, you may search for names starting with the alphabet of your choice. You may even base your search on the meanings or themes of some names. To ensure that your baby gets the perfect name, you may use our baby name finder to browse through our vast collection.

Dealing With Sibling Rivalry

Got kids?  Then you have quarrels, face-offs, competitions and even a few knock downs to cope up with – we know you are dealing with sibling rivalry. This term “Sibling Rivalry” is sure to send jitters in your veins. Every parent has to go through this difficult phase- where you try to maintain your self-respect while dealing with it. It is not uncommon for brothers and sisters to fight or quarrel, but that does not mean that they do not love each other; or yearn for each other. While many kids are blessed to have a “perfect sibling” relationship, it is not uncommon for other siblings to fight often. It is very stressful to see our kids fight like cats and dogs, at times it turns out to be physical abuse, calling out names, yelling, slamming doors or flares out into bitter fights as well. These are the testing times for any parent, while you sort out their differences at the same time not make any child feel low or left out.

The reasons for these fights are not uncommon to guess-toys, clothes, activities choice, TV remote control, electronic gadgets or the first chance on swing – they are really rooted in the struggle to achieve your love and attention.  These are a few tips which would help you in dealing with sibling rivalry:

Dealing With Sibling Rivalry

Avoid getting involved

As far as possible, avoid getting involved in the fights. We should allow the kids to sort out their problems on their own. This enhances their problem-solving skills and communicative skills. Generally, the decision would be in favour of one child; then the other child feels let down, and dejected. This may lead to a situation that – you unintentionally – are giving out a signal that you are “protecting” one child and this might lead to more rebellious feelings within the other child. So, encourage them to sort out their problems amicably on their own. Invariably, at times, situations blow out of proportion, then ‘step in’ to solve the problems with them and not for them. Firstly, it would be wise on your part to separate the kids till they cool down. After that has happened, then talk to them and ask them to reconcile to each other.

Toy fights

Each child is attached to their favourite toy/toys & nothing can separate them from it. So, if anybody tries to, then they react adversely. The best “toy strategy” would be to allow each kid to keep their favourite toys to himself. Those become his private ones, having full authority over them. It is okay to have your own territory; it makes you feel secure. And making it clear that the other toys are common and both the siblings have equal access to them is also very important. This ensures peace and contentment to a large extent. Of course, they can share toys amongst each other at their own terms, that is their lookout. We need to remember that, when kids handle their disputes, they learn two important things-

  • Understand the sibling’s perspective
  • How to compromise and negotiate.

These are values which will remain with them lifelong.

Dealing With Sibling Rivalry

Differences in the preferences

Each child grows with a different temperament, no child is the same psychologically and emotionally. Their mood swings vary; at times they might feel like going outside to play, or sometimes would just like to sit in one corner of the room and paint or colour. One child could be a tomboy loving to play outdoors, whereas the other one could possess love for baking. Fights over activities can turn into major brawls & struggles. It becomes a herculean task for the parents to make sure each child’s interests and preferences are honoured at the appropriate time. How to deal with conflicting interests?

Here are some tips:

  1. It is unfair on the parent’s part to dump an activity on the child just because her/his sibling loves doing it. If one loves painting, you can involved the other child to choose the colouring set, and let the other child practice her strokes. Involvement even in a small way will pave way to togetherness and unison.
  2. “Fair” and “equal” attitude is not possible in all situations. At times, one child needs more support than the other.
  3. Make efforts to give your kids one-to-one attention directed to their interests and wants, as much as you can.
  4. Most importantly, make them feel that their needs and wants will surely be fulfilled by their parents. So, this instills a sense of security in them.
  5. Make sure that the child has her own “me time” when she gets to do her own activity, without the sibling tagging along. This gives a sense of freedom and relaxation to the child.

Tough mess-ups

Your son has just completed his science project; ready for submission the next day, kept on his study table. Your little one one spots it; and wonders what this weird looking colourful thing is.  He lacks the impulse control to keep his cute little mitts off it. He starts exploring it; and bye-bye to the science project. Your elder one, not surprisingly, gets upset and yells; he has justified every blow; his long hours of hard work is shattered on the floor. It is an awkward situation where you know who the culprit is, but cannot punish him- don’t feel helpless. Make your son realize that the little one did not intend to do make you angry, he is just a baby. Keep your cool, have a totally relaxed attitude. Allow him to vent his anger on you, verbally, instead of taking it out on the younger brother, who does not understand what is happening. Next step would be to assure the elder one that he will be given a safe place to keep all his belongings.

Attention grabbers

It is your elder daughter’s Graduation Day programme; her special evening which she has been looking forward to from many days. You are all getting prepared for the grand event; rehearsals, grooming up the elder one and doing all the special things for her which will make her feel good. The younger one is watching all this; she wants to feel special too.  She starts throwing tantrums, that is the easiest way to grab attention of her parents. Sudden demand  for a new doll is also one way of protesting; to seek attention. The best way to deal with this could be:

  1. Make the child understand that it is her elder sister’s special evening, and make her recollect that in the past she too has had many special ones. This time it is the elder one who is getting a lion’s share of attention, so it’s okay to be on the other side at times.
  2. Make the younger one feel important by asking her to help you out with getting the bags packed for the evening, or packing some snacks for the journey. This can encourage her and make her feel one with the family.
  3. Make your child feel that your love is unconditional, and it has no limits or boundaries.

Nursing mania

Nursing the baby is a beautiful feeling as you wish to create an everlasting bond with the baby. The mother does not get much time to do what she wants, but nursing is the time when she is only belonging to her baby.  No matter how hard a child tries to be tolerant it is bound to be traumatic when the new baby arrives.  Your child’s jealousy gets the better of him and he starts acting crazy. These crazy times can be handled in such a manner which the child can easily adopt to. Keep aside toys especially the ones she likes, for the feeding time. And make it clear that she can get those only when she is at the best of her behavior.  Once this tactic is put in routine, you will be surprised to discover that feeding is the most peaceful and calm part of the day. In the midst of all this, be sure to make eye contact with your baby from time to time, as nursing is an important part of bonding. As you know the rest of your life your attention will be automatically split into half!

What did I pick for my little one?

African Summer dohar

The African summer dohar takes your little one on an expedition to the Sahara Desert. Beautiful hues of yellow & orange with printed lions, elephants & giraffes, this dohar is just perfect for your young turk eager to learn & explore. What I also like about this dohar is that you can insert a plush & convert it into a duvet during winters. 100% cotton – hand or machine wash at any temperature.

What have Facebook Co-Founder Mark Zuckerberg & Kareena Kapoor Bought In Common For Their Little Munchkins

Priced at Rs.2999, you can buy this here.

What I love the most

  1. Quality 9/10 – That’s obviously the first thing that comes to anyone’s mind who has used the products. Many bedding sets available in the market are not 100% premium cotton. One wants more than just polka dots, pink hearts & teddy bears. Barely matched quality with free shipping all over India is a no brainer to try Little West Street.
  2. Unique Themes 9.5/10 – There is no dearth of themes at Little West Street. I picked Jungle Safari. You can choose from various impeccable designs that include – Vroooom, Royalty, Scoops & Smiles, Above & Beyond, Circus, Sail Away and Mermaid. Designs for boys & girls, small & big. Great detailing, soothing colours & perfect finish. So, what’s your pick?
  3. “Thank You” card 10/10 – Small gestures can make a big difference. Fabulous packaging – clean & classy. Something that can’t go unnoticed & forgotten.
Little West Street Review

What could have been better

  1. Cost 7.5/10 – This brand caters predominantly to the affluent segment. With quilts starting at Rs.4500, many middle income families cannot afford it. But, that’s not the target segment anyway. Probably because there are enough options in the more affordable sector. Samridhi’s team targets doting parents & their kith & kin who have an indulgence streak.
  2. Ease Of Washing 8/10 – You should take care to either gentle hand or machine wash at warm or cold temperature the quilts to ensure it retains it’s best colour, texture & finish.

Well, as a new mommy you have several things to worry about. From dirty nappies, colicky babies to sterilization of feeding bottles. All these are unfortunately inevitable. What is possibly avoidable is comfort for your baby – hygiene & a good sleep. So go ahead & cuddle your baby & catch up on a much deserved & much desired good night’s sleep 🙂 And if you just can’t resist checking out their fabulous stuff you can hop onto Little West Street right away!

We Indians love food – This is an undisputed fact! The pani puris, the samosas, the medhu vadas, the pizzas & the faloodas – all of us have a weakness for something sweet, spicy or tangy! Amusingly, some people admit that they “Live to Eat!” With changing lifestyle, habits & food patterns, there are more late night parties & munching & early brunches next day(naturally). In long-term, this has a massive impact on our body – Inside & Outside. Afterall, what goes inside is also shown outside. How can you possibly keep obesity at bay? Evidently, being obese is grueling. With Size-Zero models on Television, Digital, Print & all things cool & fashionable, life can be tough looking at the mirror every morning hoping to see some change in those thunder-thighs & belly fat.

They say, “Once on your lips, Always on your hips”. This is the where the real problem rests.

  1. We really aren’t really driven by strict continence in food

  3. And once it’s on our hips, we really do not know how to lose the “Flab” to look “Fab”.

What we love the most

Obino Review
  1. Ownership: 9.5/10 – Remember, as a child, your mother took ownership to ensure your homework is complete & all things important are in place? The Obino team essays a similar role in ensuring atleast 6-8 times a day that you have the perfect balance of nutrition, exercise & balanced meals? This high frequency of short 1-2minute interactions fortifies the wavering mind & keeps the unwanted calories at bay.
  2. Diligence: 10/10 – Ambition is this first step to succeed. Second is diligence & persistence. While, there are times you may give in to the “cheat days” more than once a week, Coach Tiana (personal coach assigned to me) grades your diet score everyday (I got a 3/10 once. Couldn’t get worse J) & helps you ameliorate your dedication and abide by the suggested calorie intake.
  3. Flexibility: 9/10 – While, the diet is the easier part component, the one more laborious is “EXERCISE”. Oh, the word ‘exercise’ itself sounds heavy-duty business! Your coach is available from morning to night to suggest alternative options even while you are travelling or on a vacation.
Obino, Personal Health Coach App

What could have been better

  1. Daily Diet Log: 8/10 – One of the most amazing feature of the App is that one can & is expected (by the diet coach) to fill up the daily consumption of every meal & snack. This helps in tracking the calorie intake every day. One of the challenging tasks is to find some of the items in the menu options. Eg. I could not find the nutritional value of DryFruit Ladoo. While we can ascertain the possible calorie consumption, these are just estimates and not actuals. And there can be a high variance in these figures.
  2. Cost: 7.5/10 – The paid version of this App (to a personalized coach) comes at ~Rs.1500 for a 6 months subscription. While this is affordable to the affluent segment, App assisted weight loss program driven by technology is still relatively naïve in the smaller towns & cities.

From tracking your daily steps to the food intake, the App helps achieve metric-based health outcomes personalized for pregnant women, working professionals and obese people. For those who are determined to shed those extra kilos, visit www.obino.in & build a body you had always dreamt of. For most women, losing weight post pregnancy is stressful & arduous. Best Play Mats For Kids In India

We all know that exercise is an inevitable aspect of every infant’s development. While children spend most of their time on the floor, it is obvious that they cannot be left on the carpet, which is dusty and full of germs. We can’t let them play on the bare floor either, since it is the breeding ground of all sorts of germs and we know that young children are very susceptible to infections. Moreover, your baby is too precious and delicate to be playing on a cold, hard surface. Keeping all these things in mind, we bring to you the Best Play Mats For Kids In India. These play mats have been chosen keeping the following criteria in mind:

1) Quality – An ‘activity mat’ should be thick and stain-resistant, with good cushioning to provide maximum comfort to the child. It should not contain PVC, plastic or any chemicals or dyes that may harm the child in any way.

2) Design – A play mat should be fun, colourful, practical, and functional to stimulate imagination, brain development and encourage curiosity in kids to explore and learn.

3) Functionality – Children are keen observers. You can buy a play mat after your baby turns 4 months – the ideal age when your child starts to develop hand-eye co-ordination and gross & fine motor skills. Musical mats or designs like A-B-C, numbers, farmhouse (animals) or any other similar designs can help in fostering early learning and development in your child.

4) Safety – A play mat should not tear, wear off or chip at the edges, creating potential choking hazards for children.

5) Comfort—A good play mat should provide good cushioning, and encourage development of bones, brain, spine, and vision.

Keeping all the above criteria in mind, the below list has been curated based on survey conducted with young parents and reviews by other experts.

The Top Play Mats For Children In India are –

  1. FisherPrice
  2. Dwinguler / BabyCare
  3. BabyCenter India
  4. MagicWand
  5. Kids Play Mat

When my child was 6 months old, starting to turn back & forth, I decided to pick one for my baby. And it obviously had to be the best. I stumbled upon Dwinguler’s BebeDom Mats at Peek-A-Boo Patterns when I wanted to buy Popsicle Night Dress for my little angel. And it was almost love at first sight. Let me tell you why.

Dwinguler Playmats

Best Play Mats For Kids India

While there are many low cost options available in the market starting from Rs.500, I wanted nothing but the best for my little one. And so I chose Dwinguler for my toddler. Dwinguler Playmats are lab-tested to US, European, Gulf and Australian Standards, and are synonymous with safety and eco-friendliness making it one of the Best PlayMats For Kids In India. Helping your child learn alphabets and numbers or introducing them to the magnificent jungle and all things cute, Dwinguler has fantastic designs to keep your toddler busy for hours. That’s certainly a blessing when you want to get your home chores done, right?

BeBeDom Playmmats

BebeDom Mat

This small-sized mat is a new introduction in the market. The Run-To-Town Playmat is a fantastic way to introduce your child to your neighborhood and surrounding environs. From airplanes zooming above, the police jeep doing its rounds through the lanes of a buzzing town, the hospital, the petrol pump, the school, traffic signals and a massive football ground, this mat is definitely your child’s best friend. Teach your child about the different modes of transportation such as bike, car, ship, airplane or train. These mats are waterproof, stain-resistant, crease-proof, wallet-friendly and conveniently easy to clean. Between feeding, changing diapers and nappies, burping, and worrying about your kids playing with all things dirty, the last thing you want to worry about is putting in great effort to get rid of stains. This is the one I picked for my daughter! 🙂

Product Dimensions: Small size – 1200mm * 1200mm * 10mm

There are many other options available depending on the size (small/medium/large), thickness of the mat and designs.

Here are some play mat designs you can explore:

  • Busy Farm

It is an undisputed fact that children grasp and retain better when they are taught anything in an interactive and interesting manner. Your child can now learn through the senses of sight, touch, hearing and taste to make learning super fun! It’s a great way to give them a big head start before they begin schooling.

  • Sofa for Kids

Best Kids Sofa In India

Dwinguler also has come out with premium Kids Sofa (single seater chair) made of SOFFKIN synthetic leather and filled with vegetable-based Biofoam inside. With its classic ergonomic design and high quality, it is child-friendly with its smooth, rounded edges and easy to maintain. Your child will fall in love with it instantly! Priced at Rs.11000, these are undoubtedly one of the best chairs/sofas for kids in India. You can buy this here.

What we love the most:

Quality: 10/10 – The quality is very premium and unlike most others available in the market, the mats are well-designed and thick.

Design: 10/10 – They have many play mats designed based on various themes such as Busy Farm, Dino Land, Zoo or Alphabets – there is something for everyone.

What could have been different?

Price: 8/10 – While they are undoubtedly the best play mats in the market, we would love to see them reasonably priced to ensure they also cater to the price-conscious segment. Although there are two mat designs priced reasonably at Rs. 4,500 and Rs. 6500 respectively, there are some mats priced above Rs.15000, which makes it only affordable for the affluent segment. When it comes to quality, compared to other products in the market, “You get what you pay for”

Limited Options: 8/10 – Well, every size comes with a particular design. You cannot request for a BebeDom Run-To-Town mat in large size. It is available only in small size.

An average household spends about 5-8 percent of its total income on their children. This includes diapers, cribs, clothes and rattles. While most may consider a play mat this expensive as a “noncritical” investment or rather an unnecessary expenditure, you should visit www.dwinguler.in to know why we & many others swear by these play mats. You can choose the small or medium sized one for regular home use. If you are looking to buy one in the economy range, you should go for BeBeDom Run-To-Town Mat, also perhaps because we are strongly recommending it 😉
